PhD position in Experimental Physics: Synthesis of Nanostructured Materials

At the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, Aalborg University (Denmark) a PhD position in Synthesis of nanostructured materials using cluster ion beams is available for appointment from October 1, 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The PhD project will be in experimental physics with a focus on the development of a vacuum setup for production of atomic clusters and use of cluster ion beams for modification of surfaces on the nanometer scale and synthesis of novel nanostructured materials relevant for practical applications.

Applicants for the PhD position should hold a Masters Degree in Physics or Materials Science or Nanotechnology with a considerable background in nanotechnologies and physics of nanostructures, methods of materials characterization and vacuum technique. Basic knowledge in electronics is also relevant. A good command of oral and written English is required.

PhD stipends is for a period of 3 years.

The application should be submitted electronically through http://www.vacancies.aau.dk/show-vacancy/?vacancy=331294
